Our Story

Ocean was born on the Basque coast, where the Atlantic stays cold for much of the year, the wind comes in hard off the Bay of Biscay and the water tells you quickly whether your gear works.

We make eyewear for people who spend their days in wind and water. Kitesurfers and wingfoilers first, then sailors, paddlers and surfers. What we make for them has to float, stay on and keep the water readable. Everything else in the range, from ski goggles to the frames you wear in town, comes from that same place.

What we build to

Waterborne

Everything we make for the water is designed to be dropped in it. Floating is the proof: a pair that surfaces after a crash was designed with the crash in mind.

Proven

A spec is worth what it does on the water. Polarized lenses that show you the gust before it arrives, hydrophobic coatings that shed spray, frames that float, a helmet certified to CE EN 1385. We would rather show the test than write the adjective.

Calm

The rider who has been at the spot the longest rarely talks the most. We try to build our gear, and talk about it, the same way.

The range

Watersports is our core: floating sunglasses, goggles and helmets for kitesurf, wingfoil, sailing and SUP. Snow & Mountain brings the same thinking to ski and snowboard goggles. Cycling & Trail covers the road and the trail. Fashion is for the rest of the day.
